Myosotis

The idea for this project emerged out of a realisation that after almost two years exploring the world, I had accumulated a massive amount of stories and memories - some of which I wanted to remember, and some I needed to forget. There was also a certain desire for me to connect to the city, and the people around me, and to be able to communicate in a way which I hoped would somehow affect that persons day, even if for just a moment.

The idea of the teeth came from wanting to use an event we all go through as children, which is losing our 'baby', or 'milk teeth' as we grow older, which are then replaced with 'adult teeth'. This, for me symbolises and represents maturity, and with that maturity comes knowledge and understanding of the world around us. This certain level of awareness, and perceptiveness of our surroundings we are expected to be able to grasp after losing all our teeth, was a catalyst for how I hope this project will assist me in finding myself, while somehow learning about the people and the world around me.

I debated whether or not to communicate with the people who found my teeth, however it seems only fair that by almost forcing my memory on to you, that you also have the same opportunity to share one of your own with me and hopefully with anyone who finds my memories.
